Hoehn Named Heart Ball Chair

The American Heart Association has named PNC Bank's Jim Hoehn as chair of the 2023 Capital Region Heart Ball, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Hershey Lodge, 325 University Drive, Hershey. As event chair, Hoehn is focusing on driving equitable health for every member of the community and raising critical funds to support the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association, a nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all.

Hoehn has led PNC's central Pennsylvania market as regional president for more than a decade. He joined PNC through its acquisition of National City Corporation in 2008 and previously served as regional president of PNC's Dayton, Ohio, market. A longstanding active member of the community, Hoehn serves on the boards of directors for the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, Better York, the Economic Development Corporation of Lancaster County, WITF and Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. He is also a member of the governor's Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission.

As Heart Ball chair, Hoehn leads an 11-person executive leadership team that consists of Lou Baverso, president, UPMC Central Pennsylvania region, and 2024 Heart Ball chair; Ron Bonacci, vice president, advertising and marketing, Weis Markets; Sheilah Borne, vice president, government relations, Penn State Health; Ginger Bosworth, vice president, treasury management officer, PNC Bank; Scott Cantor, senior vice president, senior relationship manager, PNC Bank; Kristen Del Grosso, senior vice president, banking market manager, PNC Bank; Susan Hubley, vice president, corporate social responsibility, Capital Blue Cross; Ellen Kyzer, vice president, client and community relations director, PNC Bank; Kathleen McKenzie, vice president, community affairs, Highmark; Shelly Miller, manager, cardiovascular and thoracic outreach and recruitment, UPMC; and Christina Persson, vice president, office of the president, UPMC.

The dollars raised by the Capital Region Heart Ball fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while working toward the Association's 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal to reduce barriers to health care access and quality.
