Library Posts February Activities

The library offers several ongoing programs. These activities include Morning Yoga on Fridays at 9 a.m.; Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m.; Lititz Garden Club on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m.; Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, Feb. 6 and 20, at 10 a.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m.; Tai Chi Easy on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m., with registration required; Painting Club on Wednesdays, Feb. 8 and 22, at 12:30 p.m.; the Great Decisions Discussion Group on Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m.; Jane Austen Society on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 6:30 p.m.; BYOB - Bring Your Own Book (Club) on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m.; and Lititz Art Association on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to make blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Jan. 7 and 21 at 2 p.m.

Swing Street, a jazz quartet based in Lancaster, will present a concert on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m. The quartet plays a mix of mainstream jazz standards, some jazz adaptations of popular tunes, and a few selections of smooth jazz. Registration is required.

A Tech Talk, "Online Resources From the Library," will be offered on Monday, Feb. 13, at 5:30 p.m.

The library will host a puzzle sale in the Community Room on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Wine and Dessert Tasting with the theme "Sipping Into Spring" will take place on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. Participants must be 21 or older, and registration is required.

The Lititz Historical Foundation will present "Collecting Antique Phonographs" by local experts and collectors Shawn Patrick and Nickolas Sieber on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1:30 p.m. Registration is required.

The Reading Royals Slapshot's Winter Reading Challenge is for children ages 5 to 15. Participants must read 20 minutes a day for 20 days by Feb. 25 to earn a free ticket to the Reading Royals' Lancaster County Libraries Day event on Sunday, March 5.

Cruise Into Kindergarten will meet on Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. for a program titled "Light and Shadows." Cruise Into Kindergarten is geared to children ages 3 to 6 and is based on the national Every Child Ready to Read program. After hearing a story, children and caregivers will visit stations intended to help with skills that children need to start school. Registration is requested.

The library's winter StoryWalk title is "A Penguin Story" by Antoinette Portis. The StoryWalk begins to the right of the library entrance and moves counterclockwise around the library and combines taking a walk and reading a book.
