Projects receive PCCD grant funds

Six local projects in Berks County will benefit from $3.7 million in grant funding from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The funds are aimed at reducing community violence and supporting outreach and prevention programs.

The grants were awarded to Berks Community Action Program, Inc., $800,000 for FAST (Family Assistance & Support for Teens); Center for Children's Law and Policy, $830,600 for violence prevention in Berks County; Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Reading & Berks County, $607,267 for Olivet Boys & Girls Club Safe Haven Project; Pennsylvania State University, $1.6 million for Berks Youth Violence Prevention and Intervention; Reading Hospital, $93,078 for Reading Hospital Violence Recovery Program; and The Salvation Army of Reading, $261,676 for Trauma-Informed Violence Prevention Initiative.
