Three Hempfield School District students - two from elementary schools and one middle school student - have qualified for the Central PA Spelling Bee sponsored by WITF. The student champions and their schools are Olina Bunty, Centerville Elementary School; Susie McCooey, Rohrerstown Elementary School; and David Street, Centerville Middle School. These students represented their buildings and took part in an online test in mid-January.

They are three of 35 finalists from school districts in southcentral Pennsylvania. They will compete in the Grand Championship on Saturday, March 18, at the WITF Public Media Center in Harrisburg.
