Textile science club will meet

The Ephrata Cocalico 4-H Club, a textile science club, will hold an organizational meeting on Monday, Feb. 27, at the Ephrata Fair Association office, 19 S. State St., Ephrata, from 6 to 8 p.m. The program is open to youths ages 8 to 18. Parents are asked to attend the meeting with their child.

Members should bring a pencil and all sewing supplies and equipment with them to the meeting. A schedule of the project meeting dates and an agenda for each project will be available at the meeting.

The club will offer beginner and intermediate sewing projects and will meet at the fair office on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. from March through June. A team of leaders will teach the necessary skills to complete the 4-H approved projects and prepare each member for competition in regional and county events.

Sewing equipment, including machines, pins, an iron and ironing board, some shears, and scissors will be available for member use. Each member will be responsible for the cost of the items for his or her project. A variety of small skill-building projects will be used to complete each project.
