Paradise Rotary Club Honors Students

Paradise Rotary Club recently recognized its Students of the Month for February. The honorees were Nicholas Ammon from Pequea Valley High School and Alison Harner from Conestoga Valley High School. They are both juniors. Students of the Month are recommended by school guidance departments, principals or faculty or staff members on the basis of significant achievement and good character and citizenship.

Nicholas, the son of Deanna and Bruce Ammon of Gap, is class president, the treasurer of Student Council, Spanish vice president for the World Language Honor Society, vice president of Stage 772 and the spring musical, librarian for choir and Chamber Singers, and a member of National Honor Society (NHS), the soccer and baseball teams, and the prom committee. He participated in LLMEA County Chorus, PMEA District Chorus, and ACDA National Choir. Nicholas was recognized for earning a 4.25 GPA, the highest GPA attained by a spring athlete.

Alison is the daughter of Julie Harner and Gary Harner of Leola. She is the media officer for the drama department, commentary editor for Valley Voice and fiction editor and submission manager for Horseshoe Review Literary Magazine, as well as a member of NHS, the girls' tennis team, the Women's Liberation Alliance, and People Welcoming and Empowering Race (PoWER). She has been named to the distinguished honor roll.
