CAP names Squadron of the Year

Jesse Jones Composite Squadron 304, part of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), was given the title Squadron of the Year at the annual meeting of Group 2 of the CAP's Pennsylvania Wing. The award, plus seven others to the local unit, were handed out at the dinner meeting at Fort Indiantown Gap in Annville.

Lt. Col. Glenn Baugher, Lancaster, was named Senior Member of the Year for Group 2 and received the Frank Brewer Memorial Aerospace Award in the Senior Category.

Maj. Jerome Broad, Pequea, was cited as Emergency Services Officer of the Year within the group. Maj. Carlton B. Walls III, Lititz, was listed as Communicator of the Year, and 1st Lt. Lynn McCord, Lititz, received the Character Development Officer of the Year award. Senior Master Sgt. Glenn B. Knight, Lititz, was tapped as Professional Development Officer of the Year.

Group 2 includes seven squadrons from Gettysburg to Reading and is one of six groups in the Pennsylvania Wing.

Jesse Jones Squadron 304 meets each Monday except holidays at 7 p.m. in the Venture Jets hangar, which is located on the Lancaster Airport near the intersection of Lititz Pike and Millport Road. Visitors are welcome.
