Natural History Series Announced

The Horn Farm Center (HFC), 4945 Horn Road, York, will present a regional natural history series titled "The Land and Peoples of the Lower Susquehanna Valley." The series will explore the origins, stories, and challenges of local landscapes.

In four sessions, the course will offer a fast-paced tour through the geological, archaeological, and historical past with the aim of giving attendees a deeper appreciation of the land and the people who have left their marks on it. The sessions will be presented in a seminar style, and participants will be invited to share their own stories, insights, and local knowledge. Each session will be led by Ed Wilson, HFC board member, who will be accompanied by regional experts with specialized knowledge about topics of interest.

All sessions will run on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at the York County Conservation District, 2401 Pleasant Valley Road, York, unless noted otherwise. "Origins of the Landscape" will be held on March 9. "The Indigenous Peoples and Their Land" will take place on March 23 at the Zimmerman Center for Heritage, 1706 Long Level Road, Wrightsville. "European Settlement and the Collision of Worlds" will take place on April 6, and the series will conclude on April 20 with "The Contemporary Landscape and Its Challenges."
