Lititz Day of Prayer service slated

The Warwick Association of Church Women invites all to attend its annual Lititz Day of Prayer Service, which it has sponsored for about 40 years. This year's event will be held on Friday, March 3, at Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Special prelude music will be provided by the Lititz Trombone Choir and St. James Catholic Church Folk Ensemble. The Lititz Day of Prayer Proclamation will be given by Mayor Tim Snyder.

The featured speaker is Paul Miller, lay pastor at Lititz United Methodist Church and vice president of the Warwick Released Time Program. He presently works as a tour guide and curator at the Johannes Mueller House with the Lititz Historical Foundation.

Several local pastors will offer prayers during the community service.

A freewill offering will be received in support of the Warwick Released Time Program, which serves third- and fourth-grade children in the Warwick School District, providing a Christ-centered program as permitted by the school code of Pennsylvania.

The anthem will be presented by the Lititz Church of the Brethren choir. A special part of the service will be a time to remember Ruth McKennon, who passed away this past year. She was the founder of the Warwick Association of Church Women, which sponsors the Lititz Day of Prayer. Sue Rohrer, friend and chair of the committee, will share a few words of remembrance.

Also, Gaylord Poling, another friend, will remember McKennon. A solo, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," will be sung by Nicholas Gresh, McKennon's grandson.

A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service. All in the Lititz community and surrounding areas are invited for this time of prayer, fellowship, and refreshment.
