Former Marine pilot to share story

The Military Oral History Club of Lancaster County will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2435, 401 Manor St., Columbia, at 7 p.m.

The speaker will be Robert Hartline, who served in the Marines as a pilot with squadrons VFR-1 and VMF-223 and rose to the rank of captain. The plane that he preferred to fly was the F6F Hellcat. He also served in the Navy. Hartline, from Reading, recently celebrated his 98th birthday.

The meeting is open to all World War II veterans and anyone with an interest in World War II history. For more information, call 717-319-3430.
