LSO sets performances, announces move

The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra (LSO) will present "Ascent & Enigma" featuring violinist Luigi Mazzocchi at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 10, and at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 11. Additionally, the LSO has announced a new partnership with the Gardner Theatre located within Lancaster Country Day School. Beginning with LSO's 2023-24 season, which will start in September, all of the LSO's subscription performances will occur in the state-of-the-art venue, which opened in 2021. Seasonal and chamber music performances will continue to be held at First Presbyterian Church.

To celebrate the move, the LSO will host a concert at the Gardner Theatre on Sunday, March 12, at 4 p.m. This performance is part of the LSO's Neighborhood Series and will include a sample of the next season's programming. The concert will be offered in a pay-what-you-can format, and general admission is first-come, first-served. All patrons are also invited to purchase tickets to the post-concert reception from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m., hosted by music director Michael Butterman and LSO musicians and catered by Cracked Pepper. Subscribers who attend this event can also select seats for the 2023-24 season.

Current LSO subscribers are invited to resubscribe and select their new seats in the Gardner Theatre beginning on March 12. Subscription purchases for the general public will start on Monday, April 17. The Gardner Theatre is on the campus of Lancaster Country Day School at 725 Hamilton Road, Lancaster. The full-size stage will allow for grand-scale symphonic and choral performances, and the theater has three-tiered plush auditorium seating.
