Central Pennsylvania Food Bank receives grant

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank recently announced that it received a grant for $50,000 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S., which will be used to support the food security network in Lebanon County.

The food bank is one of the largest charitable food organizations in central Pennsylvania, serving more than 150,000 people each month through a network of more than 1,100 partner agencies and programs in 27 counties.

In Lebanon County, the food bank works with 22 local partner organizations to feed more than 8,400 families and individuals in the county who do not have access to enough nutritious food.

According to the most recent data from Feeding America, 1 in 10 Lebanon County residents live with food insecurity. Gifts like the one from Bayer Fund will continue to support the Food Bank in its mission of fighting hunger, improving lives and strengthening communities. In 2021, Bayer Fund awarded more than $13.1 million to over 3,400 charitable and nonprofit organizations to help address essential needs in food and nutrition, STEM education and health and wellness programs.
