Cub Scout Pack 148 of New Holland held its annual Pinewood Derby Race on Jan 28. The event was the Scouts' first-ever blacklight/glow race, and the cars lit the track with bright colors that could be seen in the new ultraviolet lighting.

Friends and family members turned out to see the Cubs race their cars, which had designs such as McDonald's french fries, Yoda, Venom and ET. The winners included Castiel V. in first place, Caleb G. in second place and John G. in third place. Aaron R. received the Slow Poke award, and Zachary C.'s car was named Best of Show.
