Historical society plans meeting

Mount Joy Area Historical Society will host Todd Hostetter as guest speaker at its meeting on Monday, March 20. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Cemetery Road Schoolhouse, 120 Fairview St., Mount Joy. Refreshments will follow the program.

The topic of the presentation is "John Stamm and Other Lancaster County Tool and Plane Makers." Hostetter will cover Stamm's tool making style and compare it to those of other Lancaster County craftsmen from the pre-Revolutionary War through 1880.

The meeting is free and open to the public. The historical society building is open every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., allowing members of the public to conduct research and view displays of Mount Joy memorabilia. To learn more, visit http://www.mountjoyhistory.com.
