Irish dance concert planned

Hooley School of Irish Dance will perform in a concert on Sunday, March 12, at 3 p.m. The event will be held at the Bachman Center, 633 Community Way, Lancaster. Members of the school will present historic and folk dance forms accompanied by Celtic music.

Hooley Irish Dance is an award-winning TCRG/ADCRG certified Irish dance school with CLRG located in Leola and Reading. Hooley's priority is to provide a supportive community and excellent learning environment in order to cultivate character, excellence, and integrity in each dancer. Dancers are encouraged to be positive and goal-oriented in order to strive for their best. Classes run all year long for people age 2 and up.

The performance by the Hooley School of Irish Dance is sponsored by the Musical Art Society, a subsidiary of the National Federation of Music Clubs and the Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs. The Musical Art Society hosts concert programs each year and sponsors the Workshop for Young Performing Artists (WYPA) as well as scholarships for young musicians.

The next Musical Art Society concert will be held on Sunday, April 16, at 3 p.m. at the Bachman Center. Members of the WYPA will present solo piano and instrumental concert works.

The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help defray costs.
