Students win regional awards

Four Lower Dauphin High School students won regional competition titles at the Pennsylvania Scholastic Press Association's competition at York College. They are Syler Campbell, sports writing; Carly Stephens, news writing; Jaime Gallick, editorial writing; and Bridget Lawn, broadcast writing. The students will advance to Penn State University for the state competition in March.

In addition, the 2022 fall edition of the school magazine, "The Falcon Flash," won a second-place award through the American Scholastic Press Association. For this award, the magazine had to adhere to standards in many categories of journalism. The magazine was judged nationally and competed against others throughout the country.

The team members of "The Falcon Flash" include Ethan Kurtz, editor-in-chief; Daphne Linn, feature editor and staff photographer; Carly Stephens, news editor; Sage McKeever, staff photographer; and contributors Evan Wagner, Jaime Gallick, Hannah Richmond, Tavian Boone, Syler Campbell, Alfredo Oguin-Benitez, Astin Lehman, and Bennett Davis.
