Ephrata Cloister sets event for students

Historic Ephrata Cloister, 632 W. Main St., Ephrata, will host a Community Day school program on Friday, April 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The interactive program will bring 18th-century history alive for students.

The hands-on program will offer at least a dozen different stations around the historic site, with each stop offering a 10- to 15-minute look at a topic such as lighting, clothing, or writing in the 1700s community. Students will be free to travel in small groups with chaperones in any order to the areas of their interest.

The program is open to students in public and private schools as well as homeschoolers. Advance reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling the Ephrata Cloister at 717-733-6600.
