Nature Series programs set

LancasterHistory, 230 N. President Ave., Lancaster, announced the return of the Nature Series hosted by the Friends of the Tanger Arboretum. The series will begin on Saturday, April 8, with "Growing Community Through Urban Agriculture" presented by Madison Walter, urban agriculture coordinator for the New Castle Conservation District in Delaware.

The Nature Series is a collection of nature and outdoor-focused education programs geared toward children and adults. Programs for the 2023 series will continue on Saturdays with "Container Gardening" on May 20 by Christine Abel, Lancaster County Master Gardener; "The Basics of Bonsai" on June 3 by Ryan Wagner, chairperson and associate professor of biology at Millersville University; "Creating Habitat for Butterflies" on July 29 by Debra Carman, Penn State Master Gardener; and "Winter Bird Feeding in the Susquehanna Valley" on Sept. 23 by Dan Hinnebusch, area manager and store ornithologist for Wild Birds Unlimited Lancaster. All programs will begin at 10 a.m.

The Friends of the Tanger Arboretum group is a member of the American Horticultural Society (AHS) Reciprocal Admission Program. AHS Reciprocal Admission Program members may register for tickets in advance and must show a valid membership card. Advance tickets are recommended as the program has limited capacity.
