Fairmount seeks book donations, sets hearing loss program

Fairmount in Ephrata is accepting book donations for its upcoming sixth Community Book Sale on Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29. Book donations may be brought to the front desk at Wheat Ridge, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, on the west side of the campus.

Books in good condition from the following categories are requested: children's books; Christian fiction and nonfiction; theology and devotional; biographies; history; songbooks; health and nutrition; and books of local, Anabaptist, Amish, and Mennonite interest. Encyclopedias, romance novels, and books with offensive language cannot be accepted.

The book sale will be held in the Farm Crest Community Room, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, on the east side of campus. The public is invited to attend. All proceeds from the book sale are designated for Fairmount's Sharing Fund for the benefit of residents who have outlived their resources.

Additionally, Fairmount will host a free presentation, "Helping People With Hearing Loss," on Tuesday, April 25, at 1 p.m. Fairmount resident Dale Long and his colleague Kay Tyberg will present the program, which will be held in the Wheat Ridge Gathering Room at 2100 Farm Crest Drive on the west side of the Fairmount campus. The public is invited to attend.

The presentation is geared to anyone with an interest in hearing loss, whether they are experiencing hearing loss or they know others with hearing loss. Topics of discussion will be geared to informing spouses and caregivers how to best help people living with hearing loss.
