York JCC posts special events

The York Jewish Community Center (JCC), 2000 Hollywood Drive, York, will host two special events in April. Both events are free and open to the community.

A "Yom HaShoah Holocaust" exhibit will take place on Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day - Tuesday, April 18, from 8:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event will provide an opportunity for participants to come face to face with the atrocities experienced by the Jewish people and others during the Holocaust. The exhibit will feature screenings of "What I Remember," a York JCC-produced, 30-minute documentary, at 9 a.m. and 1:30 and 6 p.m. To learn more, visit http://www.yorkjcc.org/yomhashoah.

The Israel 75th Celebration Brunch will be held on Sunday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event celebrates Israel's Independence Day, or Yom Ha'atzmaut, which is the Hebrew date of the formal establishment of the State of Israel. A complimentary brunch will be provided by Israeli chef Noam Katan, and keynote speaker Ziv Laskin will provide a presentation as the Jewish Federation of Reading/Berks community shaliach, a person who is a resource for education and advocacy related to Israel. Registration is required. For more information, visit http://www.yorkjcc.org/israel75.
