Preschool opens enrollment

The Parent & Preschool Center, located at Mellinger Mennonite Church, has opened enrollment for the 2023-24. The school serves children ages 2 to 5 at 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster.

Various class options are available for children ages 2 through 5. Among the offerings is a full-day prekindergarten program for 4- and 5-year-olds on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This class is geared for children who will enter kindergarten in 2024. Students will be introduced to letters, letter sounds, rhyming, pre-reading activities, counting, number recognition, patterns, and more. The program also includes science and sensory play, community visitors, dramatic plays, and three or four field trips throughout the year.

The Parent & Preschool Center strives to provide a loving and caring environment where students develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Students practice skills to strengthen motor development, participate in activities to build pre-reading and math skills, learn Bible stories, and more. Maintaining a close working relationship with local schools is a priority as the Parent & Preschool Center helps children transition into the next stage of their educational experience. Since 1977, the center has welcomed hundreds of children from various religious and cultural backgrounds.
