Library fundraiser to feature former White House chef

Adamstown Area Library will hold a Food and Wine Pairing Dinner at IronSpire, 2800 N. Reading Road, Adamstown, on Thursday, May 18, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Live music and appetizers in the courtyard will be followed by a five-course dinner with complimentary wine pairings from the kitchen of chef John Moeller. Moeller will share anecdotes from his career, including the years he spent as chief White House chef to three U.S. presidents, his time abroad and his current position as owner and chief chef of The Greenfield Restaurant and Bar and State of Affairs Catering. He will also share his insights about the wines he chose to pair with each course.

Signed copies of Moeller's book, "Dining at the White House: From the President's Table to Yours," will be available for purchase. The library will hold a drawing to give away one signed copy of Moeller's book and a gift certificate to The Greenfield Inn.

The event will also feature other ways to support to Adamstown Area Library, such as a wish board to help fulfill the library's wish list and a wine wall featuring bottles ranging in value.

Tickets may be purchased at the library, 110 W. Market St., or at http://www.adamstownarealibrary.org. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Proceeds will benefit the Adamstown Area Library.
