Grace Schonour of Willow Street, a senior at Lampeter-Strasburg High School, was accepted into the Honors College at Duquesne University. She plans to attend the university in the fall to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with the intention of becoming a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP).

Grace was also selected for the Spirit of Excellence Scholarship from Duquesne. More than 1,000 scholarship applications were submitted for consideration. The review committee stated that it was "especially impressed by Grace's academic achievements, her demonstrated tenacity, perseverance and grit to overcome challenges." The scholarship is equal to full tuition for four academic years, beginning in the fall.

At school, Grace is the president of the National Honor Society and participates in the L-S High School Heroes Program, Interact Club, Varsity Club and chorus. She is a three-year member of the varsity volleyball team and an Academic All-Star for the 2022-23 school year, as well as a four-year member of the varsity swim team, for which she served as co-captain this season. She played the concert flute for two years, has been a member of the Mini-THON Club, and played Powder Puff football. She was selected to attend the State Leadership Convention sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC) in 2022. In the community, she is a member of the Lampeter-Strasburg Otters Summer Swim Team.
