Public invited to MAHS presentation

The Millersville Area Historical Society (MAHS) invites the public to attend a slideshow on "Continental Currency - York Town Issue - April 11, 1778" when it meets at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, in Millersville's Municipal Center, 100 Municipal Drive. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and lock at 9:15 a.m.

The speaker will be educator, writer, historian and adventurer Bart Stump, a York County native who currently resides in York Township. His presentation will examine Continental currency that was issued while the Continental Congress operated in York Town, Pa.

Stump has taught middle school history for 20 years and freelanced as a writer for 13 years. His articles, published in numerous magazines, have focused on personalities, interesting locations, historical events and parenting topics.
