Recreational sports programs set

A Donegal Beginner/Intermediate Tennis Camp will be offered on Tuesday to Friday, May 30 to June 2, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Donegal High School tennis courts, 915 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy. The program is for children ages 8 to 14. Participants new to tennis will learn the basics using the Red and Yellow Quick Start tennis balls, and activities will focus on hand-eye coordination and include a series of fun drills. Participants with tennis experience will focus on drills that develop the fundamentals of the game, and they will learn the proper technique for forehand, backhand, volley, lob and serve. Donegal High School coaches Trent Hoffmaster and Pam Kaylor, along with high school players, will instruct.

Iddy Biddy Baseball/Softball, for children ages 4 to 6, will be held on Tuesdays, May 30 to June 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Field 2 at the Elizabethtown Area High School, 600 E. High St., Elizabethtown. Instruction will center on throwing, catching and batting skills. The fee includes a T-shirt.

Donegal Beginner Pickleball Lessons will be offered on Thursday, June 1; Tuesday, June 6; and Thursday, June 8, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the tennis and pickleball courts in Legion Park in Marietta. Participants will learn the basic techniques, rules and strategies of pickleball, a sport that combines tennis, table tennis and badminton. All equipment will be provided. The program is for people age 18 and up.
