GiGi's Playhouse Lancaster will work with its network of more than 60 playhouses throughout the United States and Mexico to host its GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge 5K Fun Run, 1-mile Inspirational Walk, and Kids Dash for Down Syndrome on Sunday, June 4. Events will begin at 8 a.m. at the Lancaster Barnstormers' stadium, 650 N. Prince St., Lancaster.

Forty teams will participate in the event, and the top 10 teams will be recognized on the field. Each participant with Down syndrome will get a chance to run the bases in the stadium and win an award. The first-place winner will throw out the first pitch during the Lancaster Barnstormers game following the race.
