Library Friends set Big Book Sale

The Friends of Lancaster Public Library will host the 68th annual Big Book Sale on Monday to Wednesday, May 22 to 24, in the former Bon-Ton building at Park City Center, 600 Park City Center, Lancaster.

The book sale will be open on May 22 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and May 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Items will be half price on May 24.

The book sale will mark its fourth and final year in the former Bon-Ton building, and with more than 150,000 square feet, customers have lots of room to spread out while browsing more than 250,000 used books and thousands of other items, including vinyl records, sheet music, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs. Individually priced books, including collectible and current fiction and nonfiction, will be for sale. New this year, thanks to a recent donation, the library will feature more than 100 collectible dolls along with approximately 200 doll-collecting books. In addition to books, there will be multiple tables of puzzles and board games.

Credit cards are accepted, parking is free, and Park City Center offers a variety of on-site eating options.

After a record-breaking sale in 2022, Ron Adams has returned as chair of the library benefit book sale. Adams hopes to recruit community volunteers to help with book sale setup and teardown, which will involve transporting and unpacking over 2,000 boxes of books and moving dozens of tables.
