Church sets volunteer fair, movie night

Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., invites residents of Lititz and surrounding communities to an evening of outdoor activities, games and information about community volunteer opportunities. The Volunteer Service Fair will be held on Friday, June 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A family movie will begin outside at 8 p.m.

Organizations from the Lititz and Lancaster areas that have volunteer opportunities have been invited to have a table at the event. It is a chance for attending organizations to educate the community about how they can help serve others through their programs and services. They will offer opportunities for children, teens and adults to sign up to donate their time to help serve others in the community.

The event will also feature face painting, and children will be able to enjoy the Treehouse Playground. A variety of food trucks will be available to sell dinner, snacks and beverages from 5 to 8 p.m. Vendors will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the Treehouse Playground.

Attendees should bring blankets and chairs for viewing DreamWorks' full feature movie "The Bad Guys." The event will be held rain or shine. In the case of rain, activities will be held inside in the Family Life Center and "The Bad Guys" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
