Local author to present "Poetry From the Susquehanna River"

The Penn State Master Watershed Stewards, in partnership with the Watershed Alliance of York, the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper and Collusion Tap Works, will present "Tap Talk: Poetry From the Susquehanna River" with local poet, author and teacher Michael Garrigan. The program will be held on Thursday, July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Collusion Tapworks, 105 S. Howard St., York.

The Susquehanna River is one of the oldest rivers in the world and has been shaping the riverlands for centuries. Garrigan will share poems from his latest book, "River, Amen," which explores the Susquehanna River and how it has shaped and continues to shape the community.

Tap Talks is a series of presentations on water quality topics. The events are scheduled at various locations around Pennsylvania and feature local water resource professionals and Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward volunteers.

Participants can enjoy locally brewed beverages and participate in an environmental trivia game. Prizes and swag are included.

The event is free and is for people age 21 and up. For more information and to register, visit https://extension.psu.edu/tap-talks-poetry-from-the-susquehanna-river.
