Central Penn alumnus to present films

Central Penn College (CPC), 600 Valley Road, Summerdale, will present two original short films by recent CPC graduate Dylan Bowman on Friday, July 28, at 7 p.m. in the college's Capital Blue Cross Theater.

Bowman, the owner of Fellowship Studios in Halifax, will present "At War With Myself" and the newly released "Vintage." Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Bowman will discuss the most pivotal scenes in the films, along with his experiences with their production and distribution.

Bowman described "At War With Myself" as a "soft horror film" written and directed by his friend Dominic Mangle, who also plays several roles in the film. The plot follows a man who struggles with dissociative identity disorder and the friends who try to help him through his darkest moments.

"Vintage" was directed, produced and written by Bowman. It debuted at the TVP Colonnade Theater in Millersburg in April. Bowman described the film as a "noir-thriller."

The films are part of the college's Quarterly Film Series and are sponsored by the Knightly News Media Club, the college's student news organization, which Bowman led during his time at CPC. Bowman won a statewide Keystone Media Award in 2022 for his photograph of jubilant members of the Central Penn baseball team welcoming their teammate at home plate after he hit a grand slam.
