Scouts refurbish Little Free Library

Girl Scout Troop 70620, based in Columbia, adopted the little library at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center in July. The library, housed in an old newspaper dispenser box, was previously cared for by the Columbia Borough School District. It is a registered Little Free Library.

Troop 70620 refurbished the library with the help of a local welder. The modifications involved sandblasting, painting, fabricating a new shelf, and replacing the acrylic glass. The troop decorated the inside and outside of the library with the official Girl Scout logo, as well as stickers related to Girl Scouts and reading. The Scouts also stocked the library with books for children.
