The 82nd annual Salunga Community Picnic will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Salunga Park, located next to the fire station, 19 W. Main St., Landisville. All residents of Salunga and surrounding communities are welcome to join.

Setup, social time, guessing games and giveaway drawing ticket sales will start at 4:30 p.m. Kids may participate in the peanut scramble at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will start at 6 p.m., and all attendees should bring their own food. The planning committee will supply chips, ice cream, iced tea and water. After dinner, there will be a coin scramble, a peanut scramble for people of all ages, a cake walk and door prizes. The event will also include tug-of-war and a water game.

This year's planning committee consists of Jessica Nealon, Shannon Tshudy and Marsha Kline. Additional volunteers are needed to help plan the picnic in the future.
