Bus trip to museum scheduled

The Maytown Historical Society will sponsor a bus trip to the Hagley Museum on Wednesday, Sept. 20. The Elite Coach bus will leave Fuhrman Park, 190 Rock Point Road, Marietta, at 8:30 a.m.

The first stop will be the Chester County History Museum. Next will be a three-course lunch at the 1817 Buckley Tavern in Centreville, Del.

Trip participants will then travel to the Hagley Museum, site of the Eleutherian Mills Residence, which was the first DuPont house. During a guided two-hour tour of the house and gardens, attendees will learn about the 150 years of family history represented by the residence. Also at the museum is a gunpowder factory that was once run by the DuPont family. The coach is scheduled to return to Fuhrman Park by 6 p.m.

The cost includes all admission fees, lunch, transportation by coach bus and tips. To make reservations by Thursday, Sept. 7, contact Janie Garber at 717-940-0037 or jgarber416@gmail.com.
