Honey bee celebration, hike set

Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will offer two upcoming events. Activities are free and open to the public, but preregistration is required by contacting 717-964-3808 or governordick@hotmail.com and providing a name and phone number in case the program is canceled.

In celebration of National Honey Bee Day, Saturday, Aug. 19, the environmental center will host an event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees may purchase wildflower seeds, engage in activities and crafts, and receive information about pollinators.

A long and fast-paced fitness hike will be offered on Sunday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. Attendees should bring water and proper footwear.
