Program to focus on code-breakers

The Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley (HSCV) will present a program titled "Code Girls of WWII" on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 167 E. Main St., Ephrata.

Speaker Hallie Vaughan will share how an elite group of women was selected to work on breaking both German and Japanese military codes during World War II. They were ordered to never reveal details of their wartime work.

The program is free and open to the public. The parking lot and entrance to the church are located in the alley to the rear of the building. For more information, visit http://www.cocalicovalleyhs.org or call 717-733-1616.
