JLL plans Cornhole Classic

The Junior League of Lancaster (JLL) will hold the second annual Cornhole Classic, a family-friendly community event, on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Kissel Valley Farm, 645 E. Oregon Road, Lititz. Admission is free.

The event will include live music, local artisan vendor stands, a silent auction, and a giveaway drawing. Children will be able to enjoy a host of engaging activities throughout the day, including inflatables, animals available for petting, and face painting stations.

Food will be available from a variety of local food trucks, including Gourmet Julie's Way and Mr. Ice Cream Kid. Beer and wine will be on-site and available for purchase from the Bulls Head Public House, and payment may be made with cash only. The JLL will receive a percentage of all food and beverage sales.

Attendees are also invited to compete in an organized cornhole tournament, hosted by Keystone State Cornhole American Cornhole League. The champions will receive a cash prize.

People may register for cornhole individually or in a two-person team by Friday, Aug. 18, at 11:59 p.m. To register, visit http://www.jllancaster.org/the-cornhole-classic/. Day-of registration will be available until 3 p.m. All registration fees are nonrefundable.

While there is no entrance fee, individuals and families are encouraged to give a donation to the JLL, which will be considered a gift to maintain adequate funding for the JLL's community service programs and projects, including initiatives that address nutrition insecurity.

The JLL noted that Red Rose Hearing Center is sponsoring the Cornhole Classic at the "Boss of the Toss" level.
