The Solanco cross-country team invites alumni, family members and friends to help kick off the 2023 season by cheering on the team at the season-opening home scrimmage against Octorara on Saturday, Aug. 19, at the track next to the high school, 585 Solanco Road, Quarryville. The scrimmage will be followed by a picnic.

The action will start with the boys' race at 5 p.m. followed by the girls' race 30 minutes later. The kids' fun run will get underway at 6 p.m. with the alumni run, jog, and walk starting at 6:10 p.m. The event will conclude with the annual alumni, team, and family picnic. Food, drinks, and tableware will be provided by current team families, the boosters, and the alumni association.

"We are looking to grow our alumni attendance," said Craig Ausel, alumni association board member. "Call, text, or email your old teammates and invite them to attend! And bring a lawn chair!"
