Lighthouse Vocational Services plans banquet

Lighthouse Vocational Services will hold its fall dinner banquet on Thursday, Sept. 14, at Shady Maple, 129 Toddy Drive, East Earl. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The theme will be "Stories to Inspire."

Attendees may enjoy a meal and hear testimonies of how persons with disabilities are thriving in their careers and shining the light in the community. Attendees will also learn how Lighthouse is growing and connecting with the community and families.

A freewill offering will be received to benefit programs at Lighthouse. This event is free but requires advance tickets. For tickets, email katiemartin@lighthousevoc.org or call 717-354-0355. Sponsorships are available.

Established in 1975 upon Christ-centered values and principles, Lighthouse seeks to provide vocational services, educational enrichment, and community integration experiences for persons with developmental disabilities to promote personal growth, opportunity, and hope for their future.

Lighthouse offers career-centered programs such as the Vocational Training Program, where persons learn job skills and interpersonal skills in a sheltered workshop, and Employment Services, where participants work at local businesses to grow in vital job skills. The organization's day program includes creative skills such as music and painting and practical skills like cooking and baking. Lighthouse also offers 16 online classes, with focuses such as joyful movement, book clubs, social clubs, art, music, baking, and gardening. Individuals may also engage with the community and volunteer at local nonprofits. Lighthouse is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
