Library programs planned for September

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer programs and services to the community. For details and registration, call the library at 717-252-4080 or visit http://www.yorklibraries.org.

Programs will include Baby and Toddler Story Time for children from birth to age 3 on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 on Friday, Sept. 29. These programs will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., and reservations are required.

A Fall Family Story Time with Miss Felicia will be held at Chick-fil-A, 2801 E. Market St., York, on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 9 a.m. A Kreutz Creek Fall Family Story Time for children birth to age 5 will take place at Flinchbaugh's Orchard & Farm Market, 110 Ducktown Road, Hellam, on Tuesdays, Sept. 19 and 26, at 10 a.m. Reservations are requested for both of these programs.

Builder's Club, for people ages 6 to 12, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The Danger Club, for tweens ages 9 to 11, will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Library Squad will not meet in September.

The Teen Leadership group will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Teens are invited to plan projects and programs for the teen space at the library. If interested, call Kayla.

The Spoiler Alert! teen book review group will meet via Zoom on Sept 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Reservations are requested.

Manga Book Club for teens will take place on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. This program will occur after the library is closed to the public. Only teens attending this program will be allowed inside.

Stitch and Chat groups, for knitters and crocheters, will meet on Sept. 7 and 21 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and on Sept. 5 and 19 from 1 to 2:45 p.m.

Reiki Meditation with Miranda will take place on Sept. 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The Green Thumb Garden Club will meet on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Melanie Markowski will present "Do You Know Our Beneficial Insects and How to Attract Them?"

York Chess Club, for people of all ages, will be held on Sept. 5, 12, and 19 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Rachel Hanna, author of "The Bucket List," will be featured in a program via Zoom on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. Hanna, a Southern women's fiction author, will discuss her books and writing experiences. Attendees may view the program at the library or from home. Reservations are required by Monday, Sept. 11.

A discussion of "The Bucket List" will take place on Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will also have an opportunity to share what's on their bucket list.

The Cookbook Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Attendees should bring a sweet or savory prepared dish related to the theme "Apples or Applesauce," along with a copy of the recipe. Reservations are required.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will meet on Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m.

The Friends group will hold their fall puzzle swap on Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the community room. Attendees may bring jigsaw puzzles to swap. Those who do not bring puzzles to swap may obtain puzzles for a fee. Any remaining puzzles will be sold at the Friends' fall used book sale.

The fall used book, puzzle, jewelry, and baked good sale will take place on Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hellam Township Public Works Building. In addition to books from a wide variety of genres, the event will offer jigsaw puzzles, gently used jewelry and baked goods. All proceeds will benefit Kreutz Creek Library.
