Kristin Geesey of Bainbridge was one of nine softball players at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania to achieve All-America Scholar-Athlete status from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for the 2022-23 academic year. Additionally, the team as a whole earned an NFCA Team Academic Award. Geesey is an alumna of Elizabethtown Area High School.

In order to be named an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honoree, student-athletes must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or greater for the 2022-23 academic year. Across Division II, Kutztown was one of 99 programs honored by the NFCA with the Team Academic Award, showcasing a team GPA of 3.29. The nine individual Kutztown players recognized were among 1,790 Division II student-athletes honored.

Kutztown finished last season with its fourth straight 30-win season and earned its third consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament.
