Power Packs to begin fall program

Power Packs Project recently completed its first summer program in Eastern York, and the food distribution initiative is kicking off its fall program. Sign-ups began on Aug. 28.

The program has partnered with Flinchbaugh's Orchard throughout the summer and will continue to work with the business through the fall.

Power Packs held a food drive at the Eastern-Columbia football game on Aug. 25, coordinated by Kim Nickle, the organization's Eastern York School District liaison.

Grocery Outlet, 1244 Greenspring Drive, York, will accept donations for the Power Packs program throughout the month of September. Shoppers may drop off food donations in a bin located at the store or make monetary donations at the register.

Distribution for fall Power Packs will begin on Thursday, Sept. 21. For more information or to sign up, visit http://www.powerpacksproject.org or call 717-517-9220 or 717-252-4412.
