The Lancaster Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) will hold its first event of the 2023-24 season. The organists will provide the music for a hymn sing hosted by Westgate Baptist Church, 2235 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. The event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m.

Some of the hymns will be selected by the organists and will include special introductions, reharmonizations, and arrangements, and some hymns will be selected by the audience. Participating local organists will include John Zielinski, Jonathan Jones, Margaret Rothacker, Karl Moyer, Bill Rhoades, Greg Gehman, Margaret Marsch, and Joshua Benkendorf. The organ, rebuilt in the 1980s, was originally constructed by the famed organ builder Ernest Skinner in 1929.

There is no fee to attend. A freewill offering will be received to support the ongoing maintenance and restoration of Westgate Baptist Church's historic organ.
