The Elizabethtown/Mount Joy Christian Women's Connection invites area ladies to a "Canine Comfort" brunch to be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 9:30 a.m. at Gus's Keystone Restaurant, 1050 W. Main St., Mount Joy. The set price is inclusive.

Karen Kennedy, a vocalist from Elizabethtown, will present special music.

The speaker will be Cynthia Allen from Howell, N.J. A former special education teacher, Allen will share "A Single Mom's Journey to Security." She will also present a special feature on pet therapy with her dog, Pippin.
