Showcasing the colors of fall

Heather Lindsey, artist and owner of Creative Inspirationz Gallery in Manheim, loves to showcase local art. She regularly hosts exhibits at her gallery, 23 N. Main St., Manheim, and her next exhibit will spotlight the season of fall.

"Sunflowers and Colors of Fall" will open with a reception on Friday, Sept. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments and wine sampling will be available, and artists will be on-site to share their work.

"This is an amazing collection from local artists featuring multi medium, watercolor, acrylic and PowerPoint graphics," Lindsey said. Featured artists will include Sheila Brownell, Katrina Hostetter, Leslie McCarthy, Kim Newcomer, Caety Porter, Mollie Shaffer, Trudie Stine, Marion Weachter, Claudia Watt, Jan Wynkoop and Sarah Zeigler. Lindsey will display her art in the show as well.

Lindsey regularly hosts art shows at her gallery as a way to give local artists exposure and also to provide affordable, quality art for people to purchase. She has held exhibits in the past with themes including "Interpretation of Time" and "Cardinals."

"Picking up some original artwork is a great way to start your holiday shopping," she said.

In addition to operating her gallery, Lindsey is the founder and organizer of 4C, a women's ministry that meets on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Honeybee Cafe, 1469A Lancaster Road, Manheim. The mission of 4C is to empower women and provide a sense of community, open conversation, creative arts and worship. The "Cs" stand for conversation, coloring, coffee and Christ, and the group's tagline is "4 Christ Thru Christ."

"Sunflowers and Colors of Fall" will be part of the Best Kept Secrets Tour in Lancaster and will run through most of October. The hours of the exhibit are Mondays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., from Oct. 5 through Oct. 21.
