Annual Walk for Autism planned in Hershey

Vista Autism Services will hold its 16th annual Walk for Autism on Friday, Oct. 13, at 12:30 p.m. at the Vista School, 1021 Springboard Drive, Hershey.

This year, for the first time, three satellite walks will occur on the same day. These events will take place at Vista's CoVE location in Carlisle at North Dickinson Elementary School; at the Community Integration Center at the Good Shepherd Campus in Camp Hill; and at the Early Intervention Center, 659 Spring Garden Drive, Middletown. This year's theme, "Heroes Among Us," celebrates all those in the Vista community - including staff members, families, community supporters, and the individuals Vista serves - that inspire the organization to strive harder, dream bigger, and accomplish amazing things.

Leading up to the event, Vista invites students, staff members, family members, and friends to register as participants and join a fundraising team. Funds raised will go toward fulfilling client needs, program enhancements, supplemental technology, and organizational improvements across all 12 of Vista's programs.

This year's walk at the school will be combined once again with Vista's Community Helper Day; on this day, Vista invite community organizations such as local law enforcement, fire and rescue, and EMS to visit with students, staff members, and families. Similar activities will take place at the satellite walks.
