Concert series scheduled

Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, will kick off its 2023-24 Dorothy Ross Smith Concert Series on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. The first concert will feature Tyrone Whiting, an organist, pianist and conductor. Whiting has performed at venues across the United States, the United Kingdon, France and Spain. He is currently the director of music and arts at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Philadelphia.

The concert on Wednesday, Nov. 1, will feature Rizzetta's Tones, a Celtic Americana band whose repertoire includes music from Ireland, Scotland and the United States.

The Highland Chancel Choir will present its annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 10.

The final concerts in the series, which will be held on Wednesdays in 2024, include the following: March 13, Highland musicians Jonathan Lefever and Paul Thorlakson; May 8, Andy Roberts' Four Piece Quartet; and June 5, Principally Harps. All concerts will start at 7 p.m.
