Wagman hosts "Take Your Child to Work Day"

Wagman hosted its own summer version of "Take Your Child to Work Day" on Aug. 4 for both of its Pennsylvania and Virginia offices. Employees were invited to bring their children or grandchildren to the event for a fun day of construction-themed activities.

Parents and children from the Pennsylvania office held their event at York College of Pennsylvania, where they visited three active construction projects on the campus - the Appell Horticultural Center addition, the fountain renovation and the façade replacement at the library. They built structures out of popsicle sticks, talked about how safety is involved in their daily activities and how wearing the proper safety gear is important.

Both locations had estimating contests, an interactive presentation about the company history, construction careers and current projects. Prior to lunch, there was an "equipment rodeo," where children could climb on and learn about the different pieces of construction equipment.

Wagman is a multi-faceted construction firm with major operations in heavy civil, general construction and geotechnical construction services. Founded in 1902, Wagman is a fourth generation, family-owned company that is headquartered in York. For more information, visit http://www.wagman.com.
