Parks department sets Halloween Carnival

Manheim Township Parks and Recreation Department will host its seventh annual Halloween Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 28. The event will be open to the public between 1 and 4 p.m. at the Overlook Activities Center, 301 Golf Drive, Lancaster. The event is usually held at the plaza in Stauffer Park, but that facility is undergoing renovations.

The event will include carnival games and entertainment for youths of all ages, as well as food, candy, and prizes. The Manheim Township Police Department will offer a Trunk or Treat.

A costume contest and parade will start at 1:30 p.m. at the tennis courts. Awards will be presented for the best costume in each division: age 4 and under, ages 5 to 8, ages 9 to 12, and groups.

Admission to the carnival and Trunk or Treat is free, while participation in carnival games and activities require tickets. Tickets may be prepurchased at https://bit.ly/MT-Halloween-Carnival-Tix or for cash only at the event. Parents and guardians do not need to purchase tickets unless they would like to participate.
