Elizabethtown Area High School students Emily Phillips and Gabriel Rottet have been named National Merit Scholarship Commended Students.

The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards high school students for their outstanding academic achievements and potential for continued success in college. Phillips and Rottet are among the top 50,000 scorers out of the 1.5 million students who entered the 2023 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. This placement puts them in the top 3% of high school seniors in the United States who participated in this year's program.
