Power Packs Project receives donation from Giant

Power Packs Project recently received $35,000 from the Giant Company's Make a Difference Challenge to fund expanding programming to reach more food insecure children in the community,

Power Packs Project currently partners with 15 school districts in Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties by providing weekend meals, including protein, fresh produce and fresh milk to more than 1,000 families each week. Last year, Power Packs provided more than 519,000 meals to families struggling to put food on the table. With this funding Power Packs aims to reach additional children through new school partnerships.

To celebrate its 100th anniversary on Oct. 4, Giant awarded a total of $500,000 to 20 local nonprofits as part of its Make a Difference Challenge. The challenge was designed to honor the Giant Company's legacy of giving back by supporting nonprofit organizations whose work has a direct impact on creating a future that promotes healthier people and a healthier planet.
